Anglia Ruskin University installed 12 screens in prominent, high traffic areas in the campus.

Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) is a busy 4 site University campus. In its first phase Nexus installed 12 screens in prominent, high traffic areas around these sites. The purpose of the network is to provide students with vital Campus, Classroom, Event, Social messages as well as “business critical” messages. The system also promotes another communication channel; the ARU website, where every one of these messages is also delivered to by the Nexus platform as an RSS feed. Simultaneously this is also delivered to student mobiles that have RSS readers.

Also incorporated was a custom component, normally not present with RSS, whereby ARU could gain sign off from administrators for messages provided by university departments before they go live to the various channels. Digital Signage network or website, no message takes more than 30 seconds from being published to it reaching its destination.

The next phases of the project see Nexus working in tandem with the university’s departments to develop design, efficiency, features and infrastructure so that the end result is a highly efficient, multi-channel communication tool.
